Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hello, this is me. IRXOSM. I want others to enjoy the fun childhood memories we all had of the original ee game, so me and my friend are planning on remaking the game in its entirety, in javascript.

I myself attempted like 3-4 ee remakes (3 of which were in javascript and 1 in c++)
I saw a lot of people attempting to remake ee in javascript and losing interest and failing

the only instance of successful ee in javascript i would actually play was Nobody edits, but it was very unfrotunally unpopular

so good luck to you

not even decision paralysis necessarily, it's just really obvious which tiles were added purely because ":O every single color in basic/beta/brick/checkered doesn't have a matching equivalent in the other packs!! how quirky and un-modern"

the absolute worst is the bg of a blue brick. When playing a map you can't be sure whether or not it's bg or fg

it's so sad to see so much awesome effort on a dead game

#10 Re: Bug Reports » eeo wehdgcdsfuyjh » 2021-03-04 09:14:48

it all has to do with the fact that "the collected coin" block has a separate ID from the "uncollected coin" (the only item that is implemented in such a weird way)

By manually placing 110 111 IDS you can **** up the coin counter

Basically you jump over 4 blocks, it's impossible without effects

Nope, you can do it with ice

gif? … IyigYI.gif
also not to nitpick but "gap walks" are traditionally called hovers (and how would you force them to not let go (assuming unmodded eeo)? a timer?)

if you are curious how it works:

ice physics are a bit wonky, i am not going to explain how exactly it works but
the game checks for the block below you to dictate your physics
so when your smiley is in this block (the center of the smiley is within bounds of this block), your physics are different.

So when you jump on a normal block and move to the block with ice physics, you can jump over 4 blocks
With this knowledge of what exactly you need to do, you can do this pretty consistently

#13 Re: Off Topic Discussion » does anyone know how to port forward? PLEASE HELP! » 2021-02-27 07:56:36

do to your router settings (usually

find something that says "virtual server"

now. Press win+R, write "cmd" in there. It will open a command line. write "ipconfig" there.
You are looking for this value

Hidden text

now, in virtual servers you have to fill a form something like this

IF your router asks for "service type", write FTP
keep external and internal ports the same - the port you want to forward.
internal IP is your computer ip, you got that from the command line there ^
protocol - TCP.

Congratulations, you just port forwarded a port!

However, you might need to allow people to connect to that port in the firewall.
Personally, i couldn't understand why i couldn't port forward even though i was doing everything alright. It was because of firewall.

you realize that this is very very early in development? You can tell people release dates when you have the "basic" infrastructure done and you can estimate how long will it take to do the rest.
If you haven't finished the basics, you can't know how long it will take. That's why there is no release date.

This is no Xenonetix y'all, he promised you "Early 2019" in Spring of 2018 and hasn't started developing it by late 2018. Then he realized that "wow, i thought this can be done in like 1 month with unpaid labor, i guess i was wrong".

Promising a release date when you don't even know yourself how long will project take to make is silly

#17 Re: Creative » EEU with dynamic lighting » 2021-02-10 09:03:41

Dynamic 2d light is a must-need for a 2d platformer game. It improves the experience a lot.
But baking normal maps for each texture is a lot of work that could be done much later in the development.
Right now a simple cut-out method would be cool. It would take a couple of days to implement and debug
Here is a cool article from Celeste development: … 478d6f10bf
sneak peek: cutout on the left and simple lighting on the right:

before: we need to make a list of all ee developers that worked on the game
now: we need to make a list of all unreleased ee reboots

#21 Re: Game Discussion » yo check this out » 2021-01-20 17:02:20

I am fine with many blocks. The only condition: they must be unique in their own way.
Adding more and more colors to existing packages is a slippery slope, here is an example from Project M

Personally I wouldn't like having so many color variations of a single block

#22 Re: Game Discussion » yo check this out » 2021-01-16 15:08:09

i just know a simple fact: When there are few block packs, i am easily able to to make worlds. When there are so many as in ee, i get overwhelmed and don't do building at all

For years now there has been the idea "EE has too much stuff" floating around, and for a long time I agreed. But recently my opinion has changed, and to explain why I'll give a comparison: If an image editor can handle 16,777,216 colors without people complaining, why can't EE handle a few hundred different-looking blocks?

I don't think i can explain but in my opinion EE should not be comparable with image editors. Minimaps? Sure! More colors = better pixel art on minimap. But ee is about gameplay and limiting the color palette gives creator better control over the content itself.

Btw just a offtopic side note i thought you all would be interested. Look at this image:

Nice pixel art isn't it? But do you notice anything .. weird about it?
it might take some time to realize that but the whole image is divided by 8x8 chunks of pixels. And each chunk only has 2 colors

I am looking forward for updated physics in EEU without 1x1 jumps, better portals and no weird bugs with boosts. For some reasons these issues were never fixed in EE (Maybe they couldn't be fixed).

Theoretically they could've been fixed, but it would result in the majority of existing worlds to be unplayable.

Do we still have EE's source code?

If so why can't we just re-release the game under exe and remove gems entirely?

(Note; i'd be willing to donate for the monthly server cost needs)

I have the source code of the game updated at 5 Jan 2019, but i won't share it or use it without Satanya permission.

EEOffline is open source, EE is not (although i think it would be easy to ask Satanya for it, it's pretty much the same game)
Also server code would be required.

The worst thing is setting up the PlayerIO database and stuff like that, would take a long time.

Even worse: PlayerIO is expensive af. (but I actually think if there will be like 10 players playing it daily it would be free, learn more at, ee's deal of 75$ a month is amazing considering without that discount ee would need to pay around 500$ monthly

A better solution would be making server and client from the ground up without implementing features like shop, campaigns etc
But you know, that would take a lot of time and money and creative power.

You might want to support SirJosh, he is making Smiley Face Game which already has multiplayer and client and guns but he is little burnt out of it
