The game that he is making is nothing like everybody edits. From what I can tell it's something much closer to Minecraft. The game is in a very early stage of development so I don't know if he plans to add any platforming elements but it seems like the only focus of the game right now is building. Everything about the movement, hitboxes, FOV, controls and current mechanics would suggest to me that the game isn't really suited for platforming at all. So basically, this game isn't really going to rival EE in terms of genre.

Pretty much what Mutant said, it seems more like a Minecraft Pocket Edition clone than a successor to EE, so it would probably compete more with Minecraft than EE. I wouldn't really expect anyone who hasn't already left EE for Minecraft to leave EE for this game, so I don't think it's much of a threat.

I have no idea who would actually want another minecraft clone on mobile, but Benjamensen is a smart man and I'll trust his instincts.

It's essentially just wattered down Minecraft, yeah.
I haven't found anything interesting to do in it, though I've only played the game for 15 minutes before leaving, so shrug.
