Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Tomorrow another swimming competition.

Hi there, tomorrow I again swim like 8 times different styles - with the time measured. Do you have the feeling before a competition, that, I mean, you can do it, but at the same time you feel like the world is about to end.

I am currently under heavy pressure, completely overloaded with just the thought that you swim there, everyone you know looks at you, and one mistake - and it's over. The teachers screams/cries/shouts/yells at you, that you have been disqualified and he needs to pay 2$ disqualification costs. (It's a funny thing there; the club pays for you to swim one time like 3,50€ and if you have been disqualified or didn't arrive, additional 1,00€ penalties.)

But, I am completely sure that I won't be disqualified - I am only racing with my time.

The "Piper" who announces the start, is not regular this time, to play around with the users' concentration. He says "Third whistle" and you need to wait till the third whistle. He says "Second whistle" and you need to start with the second whistle. Till now, I was never ever disqualified, and I hope to stay so. I however did mistakes. And when I did those mistakes, everyone fulminated at me, that I did a mistake. When I did something good, nobody even noticed.

It's the way people handle. Mistake = Bad, Done something good = no-one notices.

That's the sad thing in life.

Back to topic: Tomorrow, is the day, another day, when I have the ability to change other's thoughts about me. Swiming in all styles, I hope to get one of the third places.

Long explaining it, no drugs, don’t worry.

Merged topic: Disqualification

Hi there!

As some of you already noticed, yesterday, I’ve been disqualified from a swimming run for simply making one f*** mistake. Personally I think, that you should be allowed to have a “second chance” other than if it’s a drug or physical harm to others.

What did I do wrong?

I’ve even swimming like usually all 4 strokes, but at the second stroke - the backstroke, before hitting the ending I rotated like 2 meters away from the flip turn. As a result, I’ve been immediately disqualified (I however could swim till the end).

After that, my swimming coach completely freaked out. Never saw him like that.

Question to you: When should the disqualification be less “stronger” used.

Yeah Anatoly it's almost like if you break the rules there will be consequences for breaking them. If what you did deserves disqualification, you messed up really bad.

Re: Tomorrow another swimming competition.

Hehe I remember when my brother was disqualified from his competition. Partially because he made a hash of the flip, but mostly because he "accidentally" threw a whole load of water+chlorine in the process, at the instructors with the stopwatches. If it had just been the flip. Then he'd still be disqualified. Splash? Maybe a second chance. I don't know. Rules are Rules.

Yeah, sure, but there are some rules that a swimmer literally can't do anything against. E.g. after I was disqualified in another discipline, crawl, my glasses accidentally went of my eyes. I didn't know if I'm allowed to take on my glasses back. What I did was swimming blindly with "half" open eyes.

So I think when something "unexpected" comes, it should be retried.

Is this EE forum the only place where you basically talk everything about your life? Because this is the wrong place just saying.

can i ask why you were swimming with your glasses on in the first place? even if you really can't see without your glasses at all, you could at least get contacts?

You can actually get eye infections or irritations if you swim with contacts on. Just don't even swim with contacts.

//ee.failforums.me/img/smilies/cool I was disqualified because I didn't do the turn correct. I was swimming "supine position" (?) but did the flip to early (like 2 meters) - sadly.
